An Emerging Museum Professional with a Focus on Advocacy and Play

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic striking as the Museum Studies Graduating Class of 2021 was beginning to enter our internships, the faculty of the Museum Studies Department decided to work with the internship sites to create a project that sought to meet the needs of those museums. in doing so, students and faculty created the Indy Museum Exchange website, which provides connection between museum in Indianapolis, resources to help guide museums through difficult times, including COVID-19, and share information to the Indianapolis museum community.

As well as being a student who helped contribute to the site's creation, I was also part of a small team that was to evaluate the helpfulness of the resources the website provided. We created an evaluation plan and a survey that was sent out to the internship sites as well as to be put on the website. Additionally, we analyzed the data and presented the survey's findings to Museum Studies faculty to see what could be done to better the project in the future.
