An Emerging Museum Professional with a Focus on Advocacy and Play

MY most current museum experience has been at kidscommons, a wonderful children's museum located in Columbus, Indiana. As the Museum Educator at kidscommons, it was my job to develop and facilitate programming for guests. I was also responsible for creating and overseeing programming for school groups for teachers both inside and outside Bartholomew County.

However, I did more than that. I overhauled the current field trip programs for school groups, created numerous informal and formal art, STEM, and humanities programs for children and families, and created a summer camp curriculum and budget for a summer camp based on world art and cultures. I was also part of the National Institute of STEM Educators Sustainability Fellowship. Through this fellowship, I created a hands-on program to help children and families understand how water conservation can help combat climate change and how it affects their community!
